    – 23 local tourism operators across 6 Provinces

    – Up to 25% off flights when booked with Solomon Holidays accommodation

                    – New booking platform including flights, accommodation, boat and land transport packages

Solomon Airlines and Tourism Solomons today unveiled ‘Solomon Holidays’ an exciting new domestic tourism initiative and booking platform developed with the support of Ministry of Culture & Tourism and in partnership with a wide range of accommodation and tourism operators.

Under the new master brand ‘Solomon Holidays’, the program is designed to encourage domestic travel via pricing incentives and a convenient, all-inclusive method of booking travel and accommodation to destinations outside of Honiara.

Solomon Holidays initial product range includes accommodation packages at 22 participating properties across 5 Provinces which can be combined with flights, boat and land transport transfers.

In an added incentive, Solomon Airlines flights will be discounted by up to 25% when flights and accommodation are booked together via Solomon Holidays, to destinations served by the airline.

Discounted boat transfer rates are also available to properties based in Central and Malaita and discounted land transport is available to properties in Guadalcanal.

Speaking at the launch of Solomon Holidays, Solomon Airlines Commercial Manager John Wopereis said the new tourism program had benefits for all stakeholders.

“We are excited to launch Solomon Holidays as we work together to re-ignite domestic tourism,” he said.

“Solomon Airlines commitment makes available heavily discounted flights, when booking flights and accommodation together, via Solomon Holidays to destinations we serve,” he said.

Mr Wopereis said the Solomons Holidays initiative also reflected the aims of the Solomon Islands Government 100-Day Program to kick-start transformative change.

“Spreading travel, spreads economic benefit and through innovation, together we are making it easier for locals to research and book domestic leisure travel, so that people are encouraged and inspired to travel by aircraft, road or boat to places they seldom visit, or have never seen” he said.

Tourism Solomons Acting CEO, Dagnal Dereveke said his organisation was delighted to be jointly marketing and promoting the Solomon Holidays product with its partners,  both the ‘fly to’ destinations and also  for the first time, those domestic destinations only serviced by ferries.

These, he said, include the Central Islands and Malaita, where the airline-style Auki Express will transport passengers, as well as specific Guadalcanal Province product created to offer both boat and drive-away packages.

“So the Solomon Holidays program is embracing a completely different and very holistic approach with this initiative,” Mr Dereveke said.

“The creation of the much-expanded Solomon Holidays program presents an even bigger platform to help grow the local economy and even more opportunities for Solomon Islanders to explore their own backyard via very attractive and very affordable holiday packages.”

The new Solomon Holidays range is on sale immediately with year-round discounted pricing which applies from 28 June, 2024 to 1 July, 2025 for travel in the period from 6 July, 2024 to 20 July, 2025.

Flight and accommodation packages can be booked via the : Solomon Airlines dedicated Solomon Holidays office in Point Cruz: Phone: 36362 or email: holidays@flysolomons.com
