Zipolo Habu Resort - Lola Island
The waters around Zipolo Habu in the Western Province support an amazing
variety of fish life.
Many outstanding fish are caught right off the
rod holders mounted in front of the bar at the resort. The only way
to fish!
The resort provides top quality
gear and guides and is keen to promote saltwater fly fishing excursions
for Bonefish and Trevally which feed on the lagoon flats. This provides
excellent shadow sight fishing for both fly and light tackle fisherman.
If you prefer a serious heavy
weight challenge our guides can hook you up with some Sailfish or
Marlin. Perhaps a one on one tug'O'war with a Giant Trevally caught
on a huge lure is more your style.
What ever your fishing
dream contains it is all on offer right here all year round.

Big Game and Light Tackle Fishing with Solomon Watersport.
Welcome to the exciting world of game fishing in the Solomon Islands.
Solomon Watersport offers one of the only deep-sea game fishing operations in the country, the sport is still very much in its infancy in these fish rich waters. These fish don’t know what a lure is and they bite hard and fight even harder.
Fish Galore
Game fish include Blue Marlin, Black Marlin, Broadbill, Sailfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, Dolphin Fish, Rainbow Runner, Dogtooth Tuna, Spanish Mackerel, Giant Trevally, Coral Trout, Red Seabass, Jobfish, Sweetlip, Emperor and much more.
For the fly fisherman there is Bonefish, Mangrove Jack and Spottail Bass amongst others.
The "funexplorer" is a Mariner 31’, a popular Pleasure Craft suitable for Game fishing. This beamy boat is driven by twin Volvo Turbo Diesel engines and provides a stable working platform.
There is a fish finder, a chair and outriggers. Fishing equipment consists of 80 W Tiagra's, Okuma gold series 50T two speed reels, Okuma 50TLs and there is a choice of a great range of lures. A lot of the fishing is done near Fish Aggregation Devices (FADs) and Submarine Volcanoes. The majority of Billfish is tagged and released.
ECONOMY fishing
can be done on wither a 8m Oceantech longboat powered by twin 100Hp four strokes or a 22 foot Yamaha longboat set up with a single 100Hp Yamaha, a shade canopy and centre console for walk around fishing. This boat specialises in reef and river fishing, but also gets large numbers of sailfish and marlin up to 120 kgs. There is a good range of medium and light tackle from 25 kg down..
We also provide reef trolling, estuary fishing and river fishing. Fly fishermen are catered for, but they will have to bring their own gear..
