Diving in the
Islands...
Uepi Diving Marovo Lagoon
A relaxed and intimate resort, providing the chance to experience the natural
wonder and culture of this authentic and exciting part of the Pacific. A barrier
reef island, covered in rainforest, defined by fringing reef and sandy beach;
flanked by the warm waters of the Marovo lagoon on one side, and the oceanic
depths (6000ft/2000m) of "The Slot", a deep marine abyss, on the other. Uepi
diving offers the unique opportunity of diving at sites which are only minutes
away from the dive shop. Most of the dive sites are conveniently located either
right off the edge of the island or just a short boat trip away. The diving is
done on a multi-level plan, beginning at 30 meters or less and ascending slowly
throughout the dive. It is common for divers to stay in the water for an hour or
so on each dive because the top 5-10 meters have endless species to discover,
allowing a diver to get maximum value from each dive. Rarely will you view such
high concentrations of fish, sponges and corals in such a diverse environment,
ranging from lagoon coral gardens to vertical drop-offs into 2000 meters of
ocean, most within the confines of a three kilometer reef.
Since late 2001, Uepi has also been offering several
sensational wreck dives on 3 Japanese WWII supply ships. For more information, visit
