KIBCA participates in Tourism activities

The Kolobangara Island Biodiversity Association (KIBCA) is a local member based organization formed in 2008 to represent Indigenous Kolobangarans and their interests in the conservation of land and marine areas of Kolobangara Island. KIBCA also indentifies ways to generate social and employment benefits from conservation activities on the Island. Activities such as trekking, bird watching using a bird watching spotting scope from the expensive deck at the Imbu Rano lodge located at the entrance to the 400m altitude conservation area and enjoying the rainforest is now great value. Coral gardens at Nusa Tuva are a fascinating spot for adventure. For more information see www.kolombagnara.org

PNG Investors gets information on Tourism investment Opportunities in SI

The Deputy Director of Tourism Savita Nandan presented an overview of the tourism investment opportunities available in the Solomon Islands to a group of PNG investors at the Mendana hotel  on Saturday 26th Feb flanking other important stakeholders such as CBSI, Lands and government officers presenting NCRA policies. She highlighted the Marovo lagoon for cruising type investment, the Central Islands and Marau sound. The investors showed a lot of interest on Central Islands Province but also posed a lot of questions regarding the infrastructure development currently addressed by TTF. LNG gas mining in PNG stated that they require retreat destinations for their expatriate workers and Solomon Islands could be that ideal destination.
