Half Marathon launched
Monday, 01 March 2010 15:20
The Guadalcanal half marathon was launched on the 25th Feb at the Belama Lounge. In his address, Tailwind promotions General Manager Mr. Peter Creagh said that having a professionally organized international event again in Honiara showcases the Solomon islands and demonstrate that the country is moving forward. He said that competition from rival countries is fierce and if we are to attract new visitors we need to concentrate on our package pricing, products and services. Solomon Airlines data also showed that people who come to the Solomon Islands once, always return. It is envisaged this event is for the “long term” and we want to grow it year by year. This year, the organizing committee will comprise of SIVB, Solomon Airlines and Travel Solomons.
