Day trips can be arranged to visit the island and snorkelling equipment may be hired or bought from the Gizo Hotel. The Naru Island chain Naru Island is a large, private island surrounded by a chain of smaller islands that are only a short fifteen minute boat ride from the Gizo Hotel. The island has one self contained house which is available to rent for $500AUD/night and can sleep up to six (three bedrooms, two queen beds and two singles). Two of the bedrooms have expansive ocean views. The third bedroom looks back into lush jungle. The open-air leaf house is fully self-contained and features an outdoor BBQ.
