Day/City Tours
“What can I do for half a day to a day?” is of the most popular questions asked by visitors. Tour operators are available in Honiara and major centers to provide day tours. In Honiara, the star tour is the WWII historic tours. This tour goes through the events of WWII on the actual sites on which they took place on Guadalcanal. Hear the stories of the numerous young Japanese soldiers who vowed to fight to the death for their country and did exactly that, alongside the young Americans who came to fight but did not make it home. This emotional tour is a must for those who want to learn about the history of the country.

A half day bushwalking tour to the waterfalls near Honiara is also available, and if you’re feeling a little more adventurous why not take a boat trip to Savo and hike to the Volcano’s crater .

Alternatively other tours to take in the sights of Honiara are also available, with walks in the Botanical Garden and a general city sightseeing.
